- The material for testing is blood.
- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.
Description
Tryptase testing is helpful in estimating the risk of anaphylactic reactions in individuals allergic to Hymenoptera venoms. The test is also useful in assessing the risk of anaphylactic reactions before initiating venom immunotherapy. Tryptase is also a screening test for mastocytosis.
