Transthoracic lung ultrasound is primarily used to diagnose lesions in contact with the pleura.
It is a non-invasive lung imaging method that significantly improves the comprehensiveness of care.
Its advantages include the absence of X-ray exposure, the ability to observe very small lesions that may not be visible on X-ray, and the ability to perform multiple examinations in a short period of time, allowing for the assessment of treatment outcomes. Advantages of the study:

Indications
When should a lung ultrasound be performed?
- in case of symptoms of acute respiratory infection – suspected bronchitis or pneumonia, pneumothorax, pleural effusion, interstitial lung disease,
- assessment of diaphragm mobility,
- during prolonged coughing,
- when we notice chest pain,
- if you experience difficulty breathing or get tired quickly,
- after a chest injury.
