Description of the study
Salivary gland ultrasound is a fundamental imaging test in their diagnosis. The purpose of salivary gland ultrasound is to assess the size of the salivary glands and differentiate the causes of their enlargement (inflammation, tumors, gallstones).
Indications
- enlargement of the salivary glands of unknown origin,
- change in consistency on palpation,
- salivary gland soreness,
- changes in the gland itself or in its surroundings.
