Description of the study

This examination is a method of imaging the musculoskeletal system using ultrasound. The aim of the examination is to detect capsular and ligamentous damage to the knee, confirm the presence of intra-articular fluid, detect soft tissue changes, and cysts around the knee, and determine their size, structure, and connection to the knee joint.

Indications

  • pain,
  • restriction of mobility,
  • limited muscle strength and range of joint movement,
  • inflammation or injury in the joint,
  • knee sprains,
  • damage to ligaments and intra-articular structures (collateral ligaments, cruciate ligaments, meniscus),
  • non-traumatic changes,
  • cysts around the joint and popliteal fossa,
  • confirmation of the presence of fluid in the joint,
  • detection of changes in soft tissues and determination of their size, structure, and connection with the joint.
