The ENT specialist's role is to provide basic diagnosis and treatment for conditions such as tonsillitis , pharyngitis, laryngitis, sinusitis, and more. An ENT physician treats enlarged tonsils, sleep apnea, and head and neck tumors.
The ENT clinic also provides access to specialized tests, such as:
- X-rays,
- ultrasound examination,
- fiberoscopy, i.e. videoendoscopy of the nose, throat, larynx,
- swabs,
- audiological tests,
- home apnea test,
- laboratory tests.
If necessary, the otolaryngologist may also order other tests: computed tomography , magnetic resonance imaging , biopsy of suspicious lesions.
