What does a visit to a speech therapist look like?

A visit to a speech therapy clinic begins with the speech therapist taking a detailed history of the patient's problems, past illnesses and lifestyle. The speech therapist will assess the efficiency and structure of the speech organs, examine the correctness of articulation and the level of language development. He will make recommendations for further diagnosis and management, answer the patient's questions.

The results of previous examinations, if the patient has any, can be brought to the speech therapy clinic appointment.
