CHUK prevention during a visit to your family doctor.
- Untreated hypertension can lead to strokes, coronary heart disease, heart failure, and kidney failure, among other things.
- More than 40% of cardiac deaths in men are caused by coronary artery disease, while in women the figure is 30%.
- Atherosclerosis ranks third among the causes of death in Poland.
- About 15,000 Poles die from heart attacks every year.
Who qualifies for the ChUK program?
Women and men who meet all of the following conditions can join the program:
- They are aged between 35 and 65 (i.e. if the patient turns 35 on May 1, 2024, he/she can already benefit from the program on January 1, 2024)
- for 5 years They did not participate in the Chuk program
- They do not have diabetes, chronic kidney disease, familial hypercholesterolemia or certain cardiovascular diseases.
What does the program look like?
Cardiovascular disease prevention consists of two visits. One of them can be conducted via teleconsultation. The visit includes:
- physical examination (blood pressure and heart rate measurement), anthropometric examination (weight, height, waist circumference and BMI calculation),
- interview and completion of the ChUK survey,
- ordering laboratory tests,
- blood test: cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, non-HDL cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose,
- patient qualification to the risk group according to SCORE-2 PL,
- conducting health education.
