Cardiovascular diseases (CVD)
Don't ignore the first worrisome symptoms of cardiovascular disease!
You can start CVD prevention when you visit your family doctor.
- Untreated hypertension can lead to strokes, ischemic heart disease, heart failure and kidney failure, among other conditions.
- More than 40% of cardiovascular deaths in men are due to coronary artery disease, while in women it is 30%.
- Atherosclerosis ranks third among causes of death in Poland.
- About 15,000 Poles die of heart attacks every year.
Who is eligible for the CVD program?
Women and men who meet all of the following conditions can join the program:
- Have a calendar age of 35 to 65 (i.e., if the Patient(s) turns 35 on 01.05.2024, they are already eligible for the program on 01.01.2024)
- They did not participate in the Chuk program during the 5-year period.
- They do not have diabetes, chronic kidney disease, familial hypercholesterolemia or certain cardiovascular diseases.
What is the course of the program?
Cardiovascular disease prevention consists of two visits. One of them can be conducted in the form of a teleportation. The visit includes activities:
- Physical examination (measurement of blood pressure and heart rate), anthropometric (measurement of weight, height, waist circumference and calculation of BMI),
- Interview and completion of the CVD survey,
- ordering laboratory tests,
- Blood test: cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, non-HDL cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose,
- Qualification of the patient to the risk group according to SCORE-2 PL,
- Conducting health education.
