Tuberculosis prevention program

tuberculosis_prevention

The aim of providing services is to reduce the incidence and mortality rate of tuberculosis and to provide early care to beneficiaries suffering from tuberculosis.

People with risk factors

The target group is adults who have not had a history of tuberculosis, including in particular:

  • People who had direct contact with tuberculosis patients.
  • Persons with at least one of the following predisposing circumstances: unemployed, disabled, suffering from a long-term illness, addicted to psychoactive substances.

Provision of the service

The services (once every two years) are provided without a referral to patients on the list of beneficiaries of the primary care nurse.

The nurse's task is to reach out to those particularly at risk of illness. Location: Primary Care provider – the nurse to whom the patient is registered.

As part of the service, the nurse conducts a tuberculosis screening and provides health education. For patients at highest risk of developing the disease, the nurse provides written information to the primary care physician, advising the patient on further steps.
