A family doctor diagnoses and provides emergency treatment for conditions that do not require specialist intervention and provides advice on general health. They can refer patients to appropriate specialists and, if the patient's health situation requires it, issue a prescription and write a referral for further diagnostics. A family doctor provides advice to both children and adults.
Your family doctor may refer you for specialist tests such as:

The family doctor may also order other diagnostic tests as part of the primary healthcare .
