Vaccination – tick-borne encephalitis

The vaccine is indicated for active (prophylactic) immunization of children and adults over 16 years of age against tick-borne encephalitis.
- Indications for use:
To achieve immunity before the tick season, which begins in spring, it is best to administer the first and second doses during the winter months. The third dose should be administered before the start of the next tick season. Extending the interval between the three doses may result in insufficient protection against infection in the vaccinated individual during the intervaccination period. - People who are particularly recommended to be vaccinated:
– tourists,
– people spending time outdoors,
– forestry workers, fire and border guards, military, police officers and municipal guards working in the field, as well as other professional groups, e.g. workers responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads, energy and telecommunications networks, pipelines, green areas, veterinary services, surveyors, biologists, delivery workers and all those who, due to their profession, may stay, even temporarily, in areas inhabited by ticks,
– farmers. - Age recommendations:
Over 16 years of age. - Vaccination cycle:
0 – (1-3) month – (5-12) month after the second dose.
Accelerated cycle: 0 – 14 days – (5-12) month after the second dose.
