Preparation
- On the day before and on the day of the procedure, the diet should be easily digestible and proper hydration should be ensured (approx. 2-2.5 liters of fluids per day).
- On the day of the examination, you should perform 2 rectal enemas (preparations available in pharmacies without a prescription):
– I enema – in the morning,
– II enema – 2 hours before the procedure. - Wash the anal area thoroughly before the procedure.
Description of the study
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment for hemorrhoidal disease. It involves the administration of a sclerosing foam to each hemorrhoid. This action causes fibrosis, occlusion, and subsequent shrinkage of the hemorrhoidal mucosa. The advantage of this method is the ability to treat multiple hemorrhoids simultaneously. The procedure does not require anesthesia.
Indications
- hemorrhoids (haemorrhoids) grade I-II
Contraindications
- inflammatory and purulent changes in the anal canal
