Description
A screening test for red blood cell antibodies in pregnant women aims to determine whether the woman's blood contains antibodies directed against fetal red blood cell antigens. This test is crucial in diagnosing maternal-fetal incompatibility, allowing for early diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
In Poland, testing for red blood cell antibodies is mandatory for all pregnant women, both RhD-negative and RhD+ (positive).
If red blood cell antibodies are detected, specialized testing is required at the Consultative Testing Laboratory of the Regional Blood Donation and Treatment Center.
The patient is responsible for the cost of this test.
