Description
A review of red blood cell immune antibody testing in pregnant women is aimed at checking whether antibodies directed against fetal red blood cell antigens are present in the woman's blood. This test is important in the diagnosis of maternal-fetal conflict, allowing early diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
In Poland, testing for the presence of immune antibodies directed against red blood cells in all pregnant women, both RhD-(negative) and RhD+(positive), is mandatory.
In the case of detection of immune antibodies to red blood cells, it is necessary to carry out specialized testing at the Laboratory of Consultative Testing, Regional Center for Blood Donation and Hemotherapy.
The cost of the aforementioned test is borne by the patient.
