Contrary to popular belief, pregnant women can and even should receive massage. Massage not only relaxes and improves well-being but also effectively relieves tension and pain. Areas particularly susceptible to excessive strain include the shoulders, nape, neck, and back (especially the lumbar spine). In these areas, we use massage techniques that relax muscles and strengthen joints and ligaments.
The patient's position during the massage is crucial. Pregnant women should not be massaged while lying on their front (on their stomach). Massage can only be performed while lying on their side, on their back, or on a special massage chair (available at the Luxmed Center).
It is not recommended to perform massage in the first trimester and in the 9th month of pregnancy.
A referral is required for massage.
