The primary care midwife (PCP) offers comprehensive nursing care in obstetrics and gynecology for women, as well as neonatal care for newborns. She educates expectant mothers, including those with high-risk pregnancies, creating educational plans for them, and prepares them for childbirth. From the 26th week of pregnancy until delivery, the midwife makes regular follow-up visits, but no more than twice a week. After termination, she provides nursing care for newborns up to the age of 2 months and for mothers in the postpartum period up to the 42nd day after delivery. The midwife also provides nursing aftercare for women after gynecological or oncological-gynecological procedures, implemented through home visits. The midwife's care covers women at every stage of their lives.
A certified primary care midwife can take a cytology smear.
