Summer guide to cosmetology and aesthetic medicine.

How to care for your skin in summer?

Summer presents your skin with more challenges than ever, especially if you want to maintain a healthy and beautiful appearance for longer, without denying yourself the joys of summer.

And it doesn't matter whether you're planning blissful laziness on the beach or a tourist rally... it's worth thoroughly preparing your skin for a summer adventure, and after returning from vacation, taking professional care of it.

We undoubtedly start with proper skin hydration

Creams, even the best ones, don't moisturize the skin from within, so their effects are short-lived. This isn't helped by prolonged sun exposure, frequent bathing, and pollutants like dust and dirt, which your skin absorbs like a sponge.

So let's start with a basic rule: in the summer, choose treatments that will help you "survive" the heat and keep your skin in good condition. These will properly moisturize, nourish, and revitalize the skin —treatments using hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients performed by a cosmetologist are especially important for skin regeneration after intense sun exposure, when it's dehydrated, dry, and in need of immediate support. I recommend treatments based on antioxidants, such as vitamins C, A, and E , ferulic acid, or lactic acid .

I also recommend "refreshing" treatments that non-invasively reduce the excessive stratum corneum of the epidermis (cavitation peeling, gentle microdermabrasion), moisturizing, oxygenating (oxybrasion) or rejuvenating treatments based on radio waves or infrared - there are no contraindications to performing them in the summer.

Deep skin hydration before summer and after returning from vacation

Summer skin is prone to excessive dryness. One aesthetic medicine treatment worth considering is mesotherapy . This is an ideal treatment for protecting the skin from excessive water loss. It involves injecting the skin with hyaluronic acid and other active substances that have powerful moisturizing, regenerating, and antioxidant properties. This treatment will improve the quality of your skin, increasing its hydration, firmness, and elasticity. Performing it before your vacation will deeply moisturize your skin. And after your vacation, it will enhance its regeneration.

Scalp mesotherapy is also an excellent choice when you want to improve the condition of your hair by nourishing the scalp with specially dedicated preparations.

What to do for wrinkles in summer

There is also a solution for fine wrinkles that become visible under the influence of the sun.

, BOTULINUM TOXIN can be successfully used .

There are no contraindications to performing the procedure in summer.

Botulinum toxin not only corrects existing wrinkles but also has a preventative effect. By applying the toxin to the eye area and forehead, wrinkles that are exacerbated by sun exposure will be reduced and the risk of new ones developing will be reduced.

Problem with excessive sweating

Aesthetic medicine has a solution! The embarrassing problem of excessive sweating, of course, intensifies in the summer when temperatures rise. This is the ideal time for botulinum toxin treatment to reduce excessive sweating in the armpits, hands, or feet . The effects of botulinum toxin treatment for excessive sweating last (depending on the amount administered) from 8 to 12 months!

What about firming and shaping?

There are treatments that will help you get rid of orange peel skin and stretch marks in the summer . Safe treatments use hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in our bodies and is responsible for skin firmness, smoothness, and proper hydration. Unfortunately, over time, its levels decrease, which is why our skin loses firmness, wrinkles appear, and our face loses its shape. Therefore, replenishing this deficiency through aesthetic medicine treatments will not only fill wrinkles and enhance cheekbones, but also stimulate the natural regenerative processes in your skin. This will make your skin look significantly healthier, even after the hyaluronic acid-based product has been absorbed.

I can't help but mention gentle, regenerative, antioxidant, and skin-brightening peels . Such peels are always worth considering.

Among the recommended ones are:

  • almond peeling, which regulates sebum, activates cell regeneration, brightens sun and post-inflammatory discolorations, has bacteriostatic and antiseborrheic properties,
  • ferulac – which intensively firms, brightens discolorations and evens out skin tone,
  • cavitation peeling,
  • gentle microdermabrasion with exfoliating effect,
  • oxygenating oxybrasion,
  •  rejuvenation treatments based on radio waves or infrared.

However, I don't recommend using strong chemical peels , which involve intense exfoliation, or certain types of lasers in the summer. Such treatments require regeneration, and skin that is photosensitive and flaky is more prone to sun spots.

Remember that despite performing treatments that are “allowed” in the summer, you should not forget about appropriate sun protection.
